What lies beneath a renovation project?
A myriad of events deemed eligible to be included in a supernatural horror thriller? Perhaps, yes.
We are finalizing the renovation of our quintessential New York-style loft. A big project, which we proudly survived. While (self)reflecting on our 18-month nightmare, we decided to share it with you.
I am an analytical amateur designer who inherited a good eyes for aesthetics and style, partnered with a supportive fiancé, who came with quite an architectural background and good taste.
Throughout the storm, we had to take over many aspect of the project, such as management, logistics and coordination, in order to finalize it. We therefore acquired lots of valuable skills and knowledge, other than choosing colours, material and fabric. As such, we were able to pull up to sleeves and make lemonade as life had handed us lemons throughout the adventure.
Hopefully you will tag along for the remainder of our journey as well as being part of the audience when we revisit past events. We think that it is important to prone the perspective of the ones that are usually left “holding the bag” – the clients. That perspective is often eclipsed by the contracter’s, interior designer’s , architect’s, tradesmen. Oh, how perspective changes when you ask the party that pays for the solutions to fix issues that should not be as such .
You will have the opportunity to learn from our mistakes as we will do our best to help you remove some stress from your own renovation projects. While, indulging in high-end decors and luxurious materials.
